The Healesville Sancturay

DSC02939

During my stay in Melbourne I travelled a short distance out of Melbourne with some colleagues to visit the Healesville Sanctuary. It’s a zoo and breeding centre specialising in Australian wildlife. It’s set in a bush land environment and visitors follow paths that wind through different habitat areas where the animals are located.

We saw koalas

We saw some other animals too, including a duck billed platypus which was much smaller than I expected but just as odd looking.

We spent close on 3 hours at the sanctuary and it was a good way to see native animals and birds all in one place.
